GIGAFEST-99

Gigafest-99 was a proposed week long technical festival which was conducted by THE IEEE student Branch at Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Technology(V.E.S.I.T),located at Chembur, Mumbai.

The festival commenced from 15th February 1999 and concluded on 22th February 1999. The Highlights of the festival were

A. Technical Workshops:
  • Workshop on the Fundamentals of the Internet, webpage designing using HTML ,Javascripts and Javapplets..
  • Workshop on MatLab :The Mathematical Simulation software used in DSP and Communication applications.
  • Workshop on Pspice: The Popular circuit Simulation software.

B. Technical Film Shows:
  • Integrated Services Digital Networks (ISDN)
  • Digital Local Loops
  • Very large Scale Integration (VLSI)
  • Supercomputing and Parallel Processing.

C.Student Professional Awareness Conference(SPAC):

Which included a series of career oriented talks by distinguished

speakers such as:

  • Is Entrepreneurship for u?
  • Engineering Management

D. Technical Competitions:
